Collaboration of Across Sector, the Lingkar Sosial Indonesia Develops the Disability Entrepreneurial Working Group in Malang

Lingkar Sosial Indonesia an inclusion drive organization based in Malang regency, East Java developing working groups based on inclusive social disability in Malang.  Development is carried out by conducting various trainings to improve the capacity and capability of persons with disabilities in the field of entrepreneurship. For this reason, the Lingkar Sosial (LINKSOS) works with the cross, namely the government, the private sector, and the community.

"The name is the Difable Entrepreneurial Working Group that we have developed since 2015, a working group consisting of people with disabilities of productive age in Malang. The background to the development of this Working Group is to meet the needs of employment independently," said Director of the Lingkar Sosial Indonesia, Kertaning Tyas while providing Social Entrepreneurship workshop material (26/6) in Agrowisata Petik Madu, Lawang, Malang district.

At present there are three working groups in Malang district and three working groups in Malang, the six of which are in Lawang, Singosari, Kepanjen, Sawojajar, Kedung Kandang and Sukun sub-districts.  The six working groups are still in the pilot project stage which continues to adjust in terms of production capabilities as well as the administration, finance and marketing systems, said Ken Kerta as he is familiar. In the future these working groups will continue to be developed to all sub-districts in Malang, namely 33 sub-districts in the regency, 5 sub-districts in Malang city and three sub-districts in Batu city.

"This work requires cross-sector cooperation, for the development of working groups in each sub-district in collaboration with the Ministry of Social Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, in this case through the East Java district PPD facilitator, also the Social Service and cross regional organizations or OPDs in each city and the district," explained Kertaning Tyas. For the Lingkar Sosial, the social sector cooperates with until No Leprosy Remains (NLR) as well as across local disabled people organizations who are members of the Forum Malang Inklusi.

On the same occasion, the assistant of the Ministry of Social Affairs PPD in East Java, Titing Rara Wulansari, S Sos, expressed his support for the Lingkar Sosial work program. This form of support is manifested directly in the field as an activity consultant, training speaker and mediator of the relevant Lingkar Sosial meetings.

"The development of entrepreneurial working groups in accordance with our coordination with the Lingkar Sosial will be realized in the formation of families of persons with disabilities in each sub-district in Malang, namely Malang regency, Malang city and Batu city," explained Titing Rara Wulansari. So that there are several functions here, in addition to economic development as well as data collection of persons with disabilities, therapy for children with disabilities, parenting and mentoring of elderly persons with disabilities, in line with the work program of the Ministry of Social Affairs.

For that we as PPD can bridge, as facilities and liaison with the government and the private sector or other stakeholders by sharing with each other, added Titing as she is familiar. She also responded precisely to the Lingkar Sosial entrepreneurship training program in accordance with the needs of persons with disabilities in opening insights on how to compete in the business world, creating jobs for people around them and automatically increasing the income of persons with disabilities.  Whereas for capital disability business actors can access the social assistance fund of Productive Economic Business (UEP) and Joint Business Groups (KUBE).

On a separate occasion, the coordinator of the Forum Malang Inklusi (FOMI), Siswinarsih conveyed some of her support for the Lingkar Sosial Indonesia. "Mainly related to policy advocacy for cooperation to increase the capacity of persons with disabilities in organizing, namely paralegal and advocacy training," she said. Also cooperation in inventorying or exploring problems and formulating into program activities both in the fields of empowerment, advocacy, as well as education and public awareness about disability, as well as everything that is needed by persons with disabilities.
